FAQ – EDGE VR Full Body Tracking
These are the questions we get most often on our Discord, with the answers our team gives every day. Can't find yours? Join the official EDGE VR Discord: every customer gets a private support channel, and the 📖 FAQ button brings up these answers in English and Portuguese.
🧾 Ordering and payment
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept the following:
- Pix (Brazil)
- Credit card (instalments where the platform allows it)
Other methods may vary depending on the store checkout. The available options are shown when you complete your purchase.
I bought it. Now what?
- You'll get an order confirmation by e-mail with your order number (e.g. #1045). Keep that number.
- Join our Discord, click 💎 I'm a customer in the registration channel and enter your order number and the e-mail you used at checkout. That opens your private support channel and unlocks customer access on the server. If you entered your Discord username at checkout, the bot finds your order by itself.
- A card payment “under review” is cleared automatically by the platform. An unpaid duplicate order is cancelled on its own.
- The invoice is e-mailed together with the tracking code.
Can I buy single or extra trackers?
Yes. Single trackers and spare straps are in the store. A spare tracker is worth having: one day you'll leave one switched on and it'll be flat when you need it.
📦 Shipping and delivery
How much is shipping?
Shipping is calculated automatically at checkout, based on:
- Delivery address
- Weight and volume of the order
- Shipping method chosen
The final amount is shown before you confirm the purchase.
How are orders shipped?
We use reliable, trackable carriers, selected automatically at checkout according to your region. Every order ships with a tracking code.
Where do you deliver?
We ship to all of Brazil and abroad (Portugal and the United States at checkout; for other countries, talk to us on Discord).
How long does my order take to arrive?
Production and delivery time depends on the shipping method you choose and on our demand at the time of purchase. You can check the estimate by adding a product to the cart and entering your address. It may vary by region and carrier.
When do I get the tracking code?
- As soon as the package is posted, the tracking code and invoice are e-mailed to the address used at checkout. The team also posts the code in your Discord channel.
- The order status on the site can lag; e-mail and your channel are the fastest sources.
- A package with no tracking movement for a few days is normal. More than a week without an update: tell us on Discord and we'll open a claim or reship.
🛡️ Exchanges, returns and warranty
What is the window for exchanges and returns?
You can request an exchange or a change-of-mind return within 7 calendar days of receiving the product, as per the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code. The complete kit is sent back to EDGE VR (we issue the return label where applicable) and, after inspection, the refund goes back the same way you paid.
What if the product arrives damaged?
If the product arrives in poor condition:
- Contact us on the official EDGE VR Discord
- Send photos or videos of the problem
- After review, we replace the product
How does the warranty work for a faulty tracker?
- Factory defects (switch, sensor, battery) are covered as per the warranty terms shipped with the kit.
- Flow: you send the serial console screenshot on Discord (see “Common problems”) → if firmware doesn't fix it, we send a replacement tracker and you return the faulty one with the label we provide.
- Meanwhile, move the strap from a less important tracker (arm) to the one that failed.
- Physical damage (drops, impacts, opened tracker) is not covered; in that case a single tracker from the store is the way to go.
⚙️ Setup
Is the full body hard to set up?
No. We provide an official installation guide made by the EDGE VR team. You only need to:
- Put the full body on
- Connect it to the computer
- Follow the instructions
In a few minutes the system is ready to use. And if you get stuck at any step, the team does the first setup with you on a call, free of charge: just ask in your Discord channel and agree on a time.
How many trackers do I need?
- SIDE (6 trackers): chest, hip, two shins and two feet. Functional and immersive, with excellent value.
- INVERGE (8 trackers): + two thighs. The complete experience for dancing and body movement. The most common setup for VRChat.
- LIMBO (10 trackers): + two arms (elbows), for more natural arms.
All of them work very well. The choice depends on the precision you want.
Where does each tracker go?
- USB connector always pointing down.
- Any tracker fits any body part: just assign the position in SlimeVR.
- The feet trackers can be swapped for the arms in the SlimeVR options.
Does it work on Quest without a PC?
Yes. The SlimeVR server runs on the Quest itself (or on a phone). The trackers' Wi-Fi setup is still done once from a computer; after that you use SlimeVR in the Quest browser. Follow the installation guide and skip only the SteamVR parts. You need a VR headset either way: the head is the skeleton's reference. VRChat is the most used game, but anything that supports SteamVR trackers works.
📶 Wi-Fi connection
How does the full body connect to the PC?
The trackers connect to the computer over your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, the same router your PC is on (even if the PC is on Ethernet). Important tips:
- Use a good router and stay as close to it as possible
- On Windows, set the network to Private. A Public network makes SlimeVR drop the trackers
- Range extenders usually make the connection worse
- Environments with many connected devices can affect stability
The trackers show “timed out”, lag or teleport. What do I do?
That's packet loss on the network, not a faulty tracker. In order:
- Restart the router.
- Windows network set to Private; turn off VPN or Warp while playing.
- Get closer to the router or use the PC's own hotspot on 2.4 GHz (Windows Settings → Mobile hotspot) and connect the trackers to it. A USB Wi-Fi adapter improves the signal.
- New device on the network? Cameras and TVs on 2.4 GHz compete for the channel.
- Ever used Standable or another full-body driver? Uninstall, reboot and delete what's left in the SteamVR folders,
AppDataLocalopenvr and AppDataRoamingSlimeVR Server.
Can I leave the room or change rooms while playing?
Yes, as long as you stay within range of your Wi-Fi network. While the connection is stable, tracking keeps working normally.
Can I use the full body under a blanket?
Yes. Since the system doesn't use base stations, tracking isn't lost even with the trackers covered.
🧭 Use and calibration
How long until drift happens?
The time until drift shows up depends on the sensor:
- LSM6DSR: about 30 to 40 minutes of continuous use
- ICM-45686: up to 60 minutes
Drift is normal for every IMU-based tracker. To fix it, the EDGE team sets up a quick-reset shortcut: realigning takes about 3 seconds.
My body gets twisted, especially sitting or lying down
- Quick reset: look forward, straighten your legs and double-tap your chest (or use the shortcut). Works sitting and lying down.
- Auto calibration: the tracker calibrates itself at power-on if it stays still for a few seconds. Turn them on before strapping them on.
- Crooked feet: enable the SlimeVR option that calibrates feet on full reset and stand on tiptoes during the reset.
- The ICM-45686 chip has a magnetometer and doesn't need the 6-side calibration.
- Drift every 5 minutes is a sign of packet loss (high ping): see the Wi-Fi section.
The legs look weird or the avatar doesn't follow
Almost always configuration, not hardware:
- Each tracker on the right body part in SlimeVR (shin is not foot).
- USB connector pointing down on every tracker.
- SlimeVR body proportions close to your real body (real height, not the avatar's).
- SteamVR floor at the right height.
- An overlay like XSOverlay helps you see the skeleton.
🔋 Battery and charging
Does the kit include a charger?
No. The kit includes only the USB setup cable. The trackers charge over USB-C and any USB charger works: phone, Quest, fast-charge or not. To charge everything at once we recommend a 6-port USB charging station with short cables; a PC USB hub works too. A full charge takes about 90 minutes.
How long does the battery last?
Average runtime is about 10 hours, varying with use, firmware and tracking configuration.
What do the lights mean?
- 🔴 Red: charging
- 🔵 Solid blue: charged / on
- 🔵 Blinking blue: looking for Wi-Fi or the SlimeVR server
- Faint LED while the tracker is off: static electricity, uses no battery and changes nothing
- Pink or odd LED colour: LED bug, the tracker is fine
- SlimeVR shows 100% right after power-on even when low: the reading settles after a few minutes
Can I charge the trackers with fast chargers (PD / QC)?
Yes. Even on fast chargers the trackers charge at 5 V only, with no risk of overload or damage. Good-quality PD/QC chargers and USB hubs are fine.
Can a fast charger burn the tracker?
Not under normal conditions. The trackers have an internal charge-control circuit that regulates voltage and current.
How do I extend the battery's lifespan?
The trackers can be charged to 100% normally, without risk. If you want to maximise battery lifespan over time, we recommend:
- Whenever possible, keep the charge between 20% and 80% (usually about 40 minutes of charging)
- Avoid leaving the device unused for long periods fully charged or fully drained
- For long-term storage, keep the battery between 40% and 60%
- Avoid excessive heat while charging
These practices are optional, but they help reduce the battery's natural wear. The charging circuit is designed to charge quickly up to about 80% and intentionally slow down over the last 20%, protecting the battery and extending its life.
Does the tracker drain the battery when it's off?
There's a very small residual draw. In practice the battery loses charge through natural ageing long before that draw empties it.
🛠️ Common problems
Tracker won't turn on, isn't detected over USB or shows no battery
Most of the time the battery is fully drained, especially after weeks in storage.
- Charge it for at least 30 minutes before testing again. When very low it won't show up over USB nor report a percentage.
- Make sure the switch went all the way (it needs a bit of force).
- Try another USB-C cable that carries data: plug it into a phone; if the phone offers to share data, the cable is fine. Flip the connector too.
- Still nothing? Post the serial console screenshot on Discord.
How to send the serial console screenshot
It's the first step of any diagnosis of a specific tracker:
- Turn the tracker on and plug it into the PC with the setup USB cable (or any data cable).
- SlimeVR → Settings → Serial console.
- Screenshot what shows up and post it in your Discord channel.
With that the team knows whether it's a firmware fix or a replacement.
Tracker is on but doesn't show up in SlimeVR or SteamVR
- Missing in SlimeVR: blinking blue means it found no Wi-Fi or no server. Check the network, set Windows to Private network and allow SlimeVR through the firewall.
- Shows in SlimeVR but not in SteamVR (or the controllers vanished): open the SlimeVR installer and pick Repair. Fixes most cases.
- Always the same tracker: post its serial console screenshot. It may be firmware; reflashing usually fixes it, otherwise the team replaces it.
🎽 Straps
What size are the straps? Do they stretch?
- The straps are nylon with elastane, non-slip by default, and stretch up to 25% comfortably.
- 10-tracker kit: two 1 m (chest and hip), two 50 cm (thighs) and six 30 cm (shins, feet and arms).
- Size: go with your clothing size. Approximate measurements are enough.
- Hook or stitching broke? Tell us on Discord which strap (length) and we send a new one.
🧠 Sensors
LSM6DSR or ICM-45686: what's the difference?
The difference is the time between resets (drift) and tracking noise. Motion quality is the same.
- LSM6DSR: drift around 30 to 40 minutes, excellent value.
- ICM-45686: top of the line, up to 60 minutes, with magnetometer (no 6-side calibration). Limited stock.
A reset is one click, so both work very well once set up.
😁 Smile (mouth tracker)
What do I need to use the Smile?
- Works with Baballonia + VRCFaceTracking (VRCFT). Connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or cable.
- Requires an avatar with face-tracking support.
- Ships with Wi-Fi pre-configured if you send your network before dispatch; otherwise set it up in Baballonia.
